VOLUNTEER and SAVE a life!

The Northern Oklahoma Humane Society was formed in 1958 as the Ponca City Humane Society and we take in nearly 1,000 animals per year. Dedicated volunteers charted the course over 60 years ago and today our volunteers continue to carry out our mission to provide services and programs that promote the humane treatment of animals in Northern Oklahoma.

Community support is essential as we receive no funds from the city, county, state and have no affiliation with the Humane Society of the United States. We depend entirely on you to help us with our mission. We are building our volunteer program and you can be a part of this dedicated team that ensures every animal is loved. Here at NOKHS, we offer volunteer opportunities from assisting with animal care, to working with potential adopters, to fostering!

See our available volunteer orientation dates here.

(We currently do not have any available orientation dates, please check back in may. Thank you!)

Please note that volunteers under the age of 16 must have an adult with them on the property, and volunteers under 14 require an adult volunteering with them.

(Individuals that need hours for court-ordered Community Service please come in and talk to a staff member.)
